Guidelines for Responsible AI Usage in the International Journal of Economics, Science, and Education (IJESE)

For Authors

1. Ethical and Responsible Use

Authors are required to disclose the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in the research and manuscript preparation process, including writing assistance, data analysis, data processing, or other research-related activities.

AI tools must be used responsibly and must not replace the authors' intellectual contribution, critical thinking, or scientific judgment. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their manuscripts.

2. AI in Research and Data Analysis

Authors should ensure that the use of AI tools is appropriate to the research objectives and methodology. Any results or information generated with AI assistance must be critically evaluated and validated using appropriate scientific procedures.

Authors must ensure that AI-assisted analysis does not compromise research validity, reliability, reproducibility, or transparency.

3. Academic Integrity and Originality

Manuscripts submitted to IJESE must represent the authors' original academic contribution. Authors must not submit AI-generated content as their own original work without appropriate disclosure.

AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors. Authorship remains the responsibility of individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the manuscript.

4. Privacy, Confidentiality, and Intellectual Property

Authors must not submit confidential, personal, sensitive, or proprietary information to AI tools when such use may compromise privacy, confidentiality, or intellectual property rights.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that AI-assisted content complies with applicable copyright, intellectual property, and data protection regulations.

For Reviewers

Reviewers must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents. Reviewers should not upload manuscripts, reviewer reports, or any confidential information obtained during the peer-review process into generative AI tools or other external systems without explicit authorization from the journal.

Reviewers remain fully responsible for the content, originality, and academic judgment expressed in their review reports.

For Editors

Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and editorial materials. Manuscripts, reviewer reports, and other confidential information should not be uploaded to generative AI tools or external systems where confidentiality, privacy, or intellectual property may be compromised.

Editors may use AI-assisted tools for appropriate administrative or editorial purposes provided that confidentiality, transparency, academic integrity, and applicable ethical standards are maintained.

Transparency and Disclosure

Authors are encouraged to disclose the use of AI tools in the manuscript or submission process when such tools have materially contributed to the preparation, analysis, or presentation of the work.

The use of AI for routine language improvement, grammar correction, or formatting does not transfer authorship or responsibility from the authors. Authors remain accountable for the final content of the manuscript.
